Six Ventura juveniles were arrested Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery, Ventura police said today.
A teen was robbed about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of West Vince Street, police said. He and a friend were walking along the street when the six juveniles, ranging in age from 12 to 17, surrounded them, police said. One suspect was armed with a knife and demanded property, and the victim complied, police said.
Officers found the six a few blocks away. During a chase and their subsequent arrests, one suspect dropped a loaded handgun, police said.
No one was injured.
The teens were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, gang-related street terrorism and resisting arrest, police said. One suspect faces an additional charge of possessing a loaded firearm and an outstanding warrant. Their names were not released because of their ages.
