Man dies after Oxnard shooting

A 19-year-old man died Thursday after being shot and stabbed in Oxnard the night before.
Sergio Arroyo of Oxnard was pronounced dead at 6:02 a.m An autopsy revealed that Arroyo died of multiple stab wounds to the back and a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Arroyo was shot and stabbed about 8:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 4500 block of Terrace Avenue. Officers at the scene Thursday morning said the incident occurred outside along the street.
Witnesses said Arroyo was walking along Terrace Avenue when an argument broke out involving at least two other men. A witness heard gunshots and saw several people running through the alley.
Arroyo was taken to the hospital in Ventura, where he underwent surgery and later died.
Police conducted an extensive search of the area, but no arrests were made.
This was the fourth homicide reported in Oxnard this year but the second this week. Sheryl Tye, 55, was found dead Sunday in her Oxnard apartment. She died from injuries caused by a sharp object, and no arrests had been made yet.
