A 43-year-old woman was arrested Saturday evening after crashing her vehicle while allegedly being under the influence of alcohol, causing her passenger to be injured, Simi Valley police said.
Donna Hebert of Simi Valley was driving south on Madera Road about 5 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve on the roadway, said police Lt. Roy Jones.
Hebert crossed all southbound lanes without hitting another vehicle and struck several Southern California Edison call boxes before her vehicle stopped in a drainage ditch on the opposite side of the roadway, Jones said.
The female passenger was taken to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks for lacerations to her head and several broken ribs, police said.
Hebert was taken to Simi Valley Hospital for evaluation and was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence while causing injury, Jones said.
