Authorities suspect arson in a fire that damaged a detached part of a Ventura home Tuesday afternoon.
Some witnesses saw some juveniles run from the scene.
The blaze was reported about 1:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Hemlock Street. The fire damaged a small detached garage tucked behind several larger units.
Fifteen units from the Ventura city and county fire departments fought the fire until 1:48 p.m., when it was knocked down.
No injuries were reported, but the garage appeared demolished, and the flames melted off part of a plastic strip from the side of a car.
A plastic tarp tied over the roof of a trailer also melted.
Fire and police investigators will continue the investigation and try to identify suspects.
