A man, Robert M. Rivera, who authorities said struck and killed a 5-year-old child while driving his truck in a Huntington Park neighborhood Sunday was later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Rivera was driving a red Ford F-150 truck westbound on Poplar Place between Long Beach Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue on Sunday when he struck Christian Antonio Martinez in the roadway.
The boy, from Montebello, died at the scene.
