A registered sex offender, Edward Frank Valdivia, was arrested for alleged indecent exposure after a female motorist spotted him naked and masturbating on the steps of a South Pasadena apartment complex. Valdivia, 47, was booked Thursday for indecent exposure and a parole violation after officers went to the apartment. The woman that spotted him was driving by around 1 p.m.
She positively identified Valdivia as the man she saw committing the indecent act.
At the time of his arrest, Valdivia was on parole for a drug offense and registered as a sex offender for "assault with intent to commit a specified sex offense."
Valdivia was being held without bail on a parole hold pending his arraignment in L.A. County Superior Court and was scheduled to appear in court today.
If you or someone you know has been charged with indecent exposure or any other
sex crime, your first step should be to hire a criminal defense lawyer.
Indecent exposure is typically considered a "lesser" sex offense because it does not necessarily involve forced or nonconsensual sexual conduct, however it still leads to penalties. Some of those penalties include up to 6 months in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, and a lifetime sex offender registration.
