The manager of a Tujunga medical supply firm will serve more than four years in federal prison for running a fraudulent Medicare scheme.
Petros Odachyan, 45, billed Medicare using forged prescriptions for items such as hospital beds, electric wheelchairs and other medical equipment, much of it never provided to patients.
Odachyan’s company, RL Medical Supply, sought more than $1 million from Medicare, which paid out approximately $600,000.
Odachyan was sentenced Monday in Los Angeles federal court to 51 months in prison.
In June 2010, Odachyan pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud.
