Two men suspected of grabbing a young woman on an Oxnard street and robbing her were arrested late Sunday, police said.
The 20-year-old victim was walking in the 100 block of West Sixth Street about 10 p.m. Sunday when two men grabbed her by the arms and tried to pull her away. The woman broke free after a brief struggle, but the men took some of her property and fled toward a vehicle, police said.
The woman notified several nearby citizens, who chased the men and flagged down an officer in the area. The suspects were arrested without incident after police stopped their vehicle and found the victim's property inside, authorities said.
Evaristo Palma, 27, and Francisco Salazar, 19, were booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of robbery, false imprisonment and conspiracy, police said.
Robbery may be punishable by 2 to 9 years in prison and is considered a "strike" offense under the state's "Three Strikes You're Out Law"
