A suspected Oxnard pimp was arrested on suspicion of crimes including human trafficking this week following a four-month investigation by local and federal authorities.
Carlos Hernandez, 30, was arrested Thursday afternoon.
Police also arrested a 22-year-old Los Angeles woman on suspicion of misdemeanor prostitution and found a loaded handgun and paraphernalia related to prostitution.
Hernandez was booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of charges that include false imprisonment by violence, human trafficking, pimping, use of false documents and an immigration hold, jail records show. He is not eligible for bail.
The Los Angeles woman also was booked into jail, where she was being held on suspicion of prostitution and an immigration hold.
At another residence, police found paraphernalia related to prostitution and arrested two Pacoima women.
The women, ages 49 and 21, were booked into Ventura County jail on immigration holds. Both had been released by this afternoon into the custody of immigration officials, jail records show.
