Authorities are looking for a man who allegedly molested a 6-year-old boy in a public bathroom at a Pico Rivera park Saturday.
The boy reported being molested at 2:37 p.m. in a stall of the restroom at Rio Hondo Park, where he had come for a soccer match. The boy immediately told his mother and pointed out the suspect, whom witnesses saw fleeing in a white van.
Witnesses described the man as white, a little over 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds, with tattoos on his neck and one arm, wearing a headband with a Mexican flag on it.
Rio Hondo is a city park but is patrolled by deputies from the sheriff's Pico Rivera Station, who have beefed up patrols in the wake of the attack and in light of the holiday weekend.
The park is open, the restroom is open, and the police are doing extra patrols not just there but in all the parks.
