Three males, including one juvenile, were arrested in Ventura Wednesday night in connection with an attempted robbery.
About 9:20 p.m, the police responded to a call of an attempted robbery in the 6500 block of Ventura Boulevard. A man was riding his bicycle in the area when three males surrounded him and stopped him from leaving. The suspects, Mauricio Lopez, 18 of Oxnard, Reuben Torres, 19 of Ventura and a 15-year-old Oxnard resident, demanded the victim's gang affiliation and searched his backpack, police said.
The suspects did not remove any property from the victim's backpack and the man was not injured.
A deputy spotted the three suspects walking near Johnson Drive and North Bank Drive. Ventura police, who assisted in the incident, identified the suspects and arrested them.
Lopez and Torres were booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of attempted robbery and conspiracy. The juvenile was booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of attempted robbery, conspiracy and an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on a previous resisting arrest case, police said.
