A woman, Monica Garcia, tried to pass a fraudulent check Sunday in Simi Valley.
Police arrived at The Home Depot to stop a black sport utility vehicle leaving the scene. A store employee identified the driver to be the woman with the fraudulent check.
Garcia was arrested on suspicion of burglary, forgery,
identity theft, possession of burglar's tools and giving false information to a police officer. Her arrest led to the arrests of two passengers in her car.
One of Garcia's passengers, Daniel Urquieta, was booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and a parole violation.
And the other passenger, a 23-year-old Pacoima resident, was booked on a warrant for identity theft.
The fourth person in the vehicle was released.
