Seventeen-year-old boy stabbed by mother in Ventura

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed allegedly by his mother, Mary Jean Guest, on Tuesday.
The boy called the police and told authorities he was at home when he went to check on his mother after an earlier argument. When he found her, she was armed with a large knife.
Fearing for his life, the boy tried to leave, but his mother chased him and stabbed him several times. Luckily, the victim escaped from the house just as police arrived.
He was treated at the scene, then taken to Ventura County Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Mary Jean Guest was arrested after a 30-minute standoff. She was taken to Ventura County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment and resisting arrest.
