A man, Guadalupe Guadian, was arrested for burglary of the Santa Paula Boys and Girls Club late Tuesday.
Santa Paula police responded to a report of an alarm at the club. They were investigating near the back of the building when they spotted a man leaving the club through a broken window, carrying property from inside.
Guadian, who was on probation for burglary, was arrested at the scene, and booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of commercial burglary, with a $20,000 bail.
Burglary is a criminal offense, and a defendant in Ventura County may face misdemeanor or felony charges, depending on the type of structure entered as well as other factors such as the use of a weapon.
A felony burglary conviction on a defendant's record may also mean a "strike" on his or her record, resulting in greater penalties if he or she faces other felony charges in the future.
