A suspect, Alfredo Orozco, was arrested early this morning in connection with the robbery of a Piru convenience store Wednesday night.
Orozco was arrested about 5:15 a.m. near his Piru home on suspicion of robbing a local AM/PM.
The robbery occurred at 9:39 p.m., where Orozco entered the store, simulated having a weapon and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk handed over money and the robber left the store on foot.
Orozco was later identified as the suspect and arrested without incident on suspicion of robbery.
If you or someone you know has been charged with robbery or armed robbery, you first step should be immediately contacting a criminal defense lawyer.
Robbery or armed robbery are felony offenses that may lead to significant time in prison if you are convicted, depending on the circumstances of the offense.
This offense may be punishable by 2 to 9 years in prison. Armed robbery could lead to an additional 10 years in prison for displaying a gun, 20 years for firing a fun and 25 years to life for causing serious injury to another person with a gun.
Either is considered a "strike" under California's Three Strikes Law.
