A Simi Valley man, Daniel Sarnowski, was arrested on allegations of identity theft,
forgery,
possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic paraphernalia and parole violation Friday.
Authorities found a folder in his home, while he was on parole, containing credit card and Social Security numbers for about 10 people, along with W-2 tax forms for approximately 75 people.
When they searched his vehicle, they found a large plastic bin full of stolen mail. Sarnowski is suspected of stealing mail to obtain W-2 forms and commit identity theft.
Tracy Frink, Sarnowski's housemate, was also arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and being under the influence of a controlled substance, when they searched their home on Friday.
With Identity Theft becoming more and more frequent, state and
federal authorities have renewed efforts to crack down on these crimes.
