Man arrested for DUI and running into an Ojai home Wednesday

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after he crashed through a fence and struck an Ojai home early this morning.

The driver was heading north on Grandview Avenue in Ojai about 1:38 a.m. when he lost control on a turn, drove through a wooden fence, hit a gas line and struck the side of a house.

No one was injured in the crash, but several homes were evacuated for about 30 minutes due to the gas leak.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence and booked into Ventura County Jail.
