A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of burglarizing an Oxnard elementary school, police said.
Officers responded at 2:06 a.m. to alarms in four classrooms at Driffill School, 910 South E St. Officers found windows had been removed from their tracks and property from the rooms placed outside.
A man was seen running on the campus, police said. Officers surrounded the school, found indications he had climbed onto a roof — including a table pushed up against the side of a building — and found the man there.
Roberto Padilla was arrested on suspicion of burglary and a parole warrant, Woolley said. All the property was recovered, and there appeared to be no damage.
