Ventura police arrested four people Sunday night on suspicion of conspiracy to rob a 21-year-old who fought back, stabbing two of the attackers.
The unnamed 21-year-old was lured to an area near Pierpont Elementary School about 10 p.m. by two Ventura females — an unnamed 16-year-old and Kaitlin Farris, 18.
The females got into the victim's vehicle and began talking to him. As they spoke, Ronald Newcombe, 28, of Santa Paula, and an unnamed Ventura 15-year-old approached the vehicle, opened the door, punched the victim, demanded his money and shouted gang slogans.
While being struck, the victim pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed the suspects several times. He then fled to Seaward Avenue and Harbor Boulevard, where he called police.
Newcombe and the other male were taken to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment. Newcombe was listed in serious condition and the male juvenile was treated for minor to moderate injuries.
The four suspects were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery and participation in a gang. They were booked into the county jail and juvenile hall.
