A 20-year-old gang member will face 25 years to life at his sentencing this month for attempted murder with the use of a shotgun, prosecutors said.
A jury Wednesday found Moorpark resident Richard Jess Corralejo guilty of shooting Fernando Lira, 21, point blank with a shotgun on Sept. 18, 2010.
The shotgun blast took off part of Lira's forearm, exposing his tendons. Lira gradually is regaining the use of his fingers.
The incident occurred at an impromptu party at the Simi Commerce Center, an industrial area in Simi Valley, after a fight.
Jurors also found Corralejo guilty of street terrorism with a shotgun, inflicting great bodily injury, assault with a firearm and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
He added that Corralejo had his first contact with police as a gang member when he was 10. Corralejo was on probation for dealing in a controlled substance, marijuana.
