On may 20th, 2009 Pregnant Davina Husted, husband Brock Husted and 9 year old son sat watching "American Idol" with 11 year old daughter and sister asleep in her room. When the show had just finished a gunman wearing a motorcycle mask covering his entire face except for his eyes which could only be seen through the visor of the helmet and black clothing entered their home ordering them to the ground and demanding money and jewelry.
Davina Husted told her son to get her wallet from her purse and give it to the man. The boy laid both wallets and cash at his feet while his parents begged the gunman not to hurt their children.
Promising the childrens safety he took both parents back to their bedroom. The young boy then hid behind the couch until he heard his mother scream and saw the man leave which is when he ran to his sister and woke her telling her everything that happened including that his parents were dead in their bedroom.
The case had gone unsolved for a year until authorities finally linked the DNA from the visor on the helmet left behind to a 20 year old Jonathan Packer who earlier that year had been arrested for armed robbery of a gas station. Packer's trial is scheduled for march.
