Sheriff Lee Baca and the men and women of the LAPD are sometimes painted in a less than flattering light, however they are constantly trying to improve the ways they are able to fight crime.
Recently the Los Angeles Police Department revealed a new database that will allow officers access to criminal information directly from their patrol vehicles.
This access will make it easier to break down jurisdictional walls making the conversation between stations and agencies faster and more efficient.
Sherrif Lee Baca is optimistic about the addition to his patrolmen and called the applications a "toolbox of information all cops deserve to have."
Southern California Law enforcement agencies say that the software should be active across Los Angeles and Orange County by the end of this year.
