Thirty Seven men women and children from different countries were found in a ten foot by twelve foot room recently. They were all imigrants who came to America looking for a better life but were held captive by those who helped get them here.
The house was a small home in Los Angeles on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The people inlcuded two toddlers and a baby. All were in relatively good condition although some reported to have eaten days ago.
"We're still in the process of interviewing everyone," Claude Arnold, special agent in charge for ICE in Los Angeles said. "In these circumstances, it does take some time to sort this out."
The house was found because of a family member of one of the victims who called the LAPD when his family was threatened because they weren't able to come up with money enough to buy freedom.
Los Angeles Defense Attorney Robert Helfend will help those accused of this crime should they reach out to him. With over two decades of experience he is willing and able to fight for the rights of the accused in any case where the defendant hires him.
