Los Angeles Police have yet to decide if they will press charges on the former real estate broker who allowed a homeless woman to sleep in her car. Charges would be made because the women died there some ten months ago and the broker never reported it.
The homeowner did however put a box of baking soda in the car, apparently to neutralize the smell.
Police found the woman's mummified body in the passenger's seat covered with coats when they responded to a call from passers by of an overwhelming smell coming from the parked car. Perhaps it was time to change the baking soda.
Los Angeles Defense Attorney Robert Helfend could help in this case. It is unclear what charges the LAPD would even try to bring against this woman being that the death is not a homicide and there were no reports of any kind of foul play. Admittedly this is a strange case and the reason behind keeping a dead woman in your garage is unclear, but that does not mean a crime was committed.
