Man Turns Himself In On Live TV

A reporter in East Los Angeles was doing a live report concerning a sex offender who had cut off his ankle monitor and had been on the run for three days. During the report, the man walked up to turn himself in.

The bizzare event happened on Thursday morning around 9am. Eric Spillman was live on the air when forty six year old Valentino Rodriguez Jr. came from the street and told the reporter that he didn't want to run from the law any longer. Instead he wanted to do the right thing and turn himself over to police officers.

The seemingly troubled man rambled to the reporter stating, "I was paranoid, sir, and basically I got scared and stuff. I got scared and cut it off. That's basically what I can say right now," he said. "The lord, the God, had told me to do the right thing. I was feeling suicidal at the time when I was off in the streets and stuff and contemplated putting myself [in front of] the bus and hanging myself. I know it's not the right thing. I don't want to go to hell."

Spillman stated into the camera that there were no officers on site but that he was sure some would show up soon. Minutes later officers arrested the wanted man.
