After more than thirty years Santa Ana police believe that they have solved a murder case. In 1974, fifty four year old woman was found strangled in a cadillac dealership. Frances Esqueda's nude body was killed by using her own slip which remained in evidence at the Orange County Crime lab.
This month a cold case team linked DNA to a homeless man who died three years ago. Gerald Kifer had a long list of arrests including sexual crimes and was a registered sex offender. He died in 2007 while living on the streets in Los Angeles.
Traces of Kifer's blood were on the slip used to kill Esqueda which proves that she fought for her life. The DNA from that blood was the link detectives needed to close the case.
If you find yourself accused of any crime in the Los Angeles area contact the law offices of Defense Attorney Robert Helfend. He will explain what you are being charged with, the options you have during your trial, and stand with you every moment so that you always understand what's going on.
"If you have been charged with a felony or misdemeanor crime in Los Angeles, you need results, not promises. Yes, I have helped people get their charges dropped or significantly reduced. But I won't promise I can do it for your particular charges. I have even helped people get acquitted in a court trial that could have gone either way with the jury. But I won't promise you the same thing. However, I will promise to apply all of my criminal defense experience, education, and reputation for integrity to help you get the best possible outcome for your charges." - Robert Helfend
