Los Angeles High Profile Rape Case

Splashed all over the news lately are the details of the Roman Polanski rape case. British actress Charlotte Lewis has accused director Polanski of sexual abuse back in 1982, when she was only 16 years old.

During her statement at a press conference last Friday, Charlotte said

"He knew (how old I was) when he met me and forced himself upon me in his apartment in Paris. He took advantage of me and I have lived with the effects of his behavior ever since it occurred. I've traveled to the U.S. at my own expense to make sure that justice is finally done and that Mr. Polanski gets what he deserves. All I want is justice."

Polanski is in Switzerland and already under house arrest for other sex related charges. Those charges are from 1978 however, the girl, Samantha Geimer, was only 13 at the time. He pled guilty to those charges but fled the country before sentencing and prosecutors in that case have been working to get him extradited to the US since that time.

Lewis has been in several movies such as, The Red Shoes Diaries, Renegade, and Highlander and she also appeared in an episode of Seinfeld. She also appeared in the film Pirates in 1986 which was directed by Polanski.
