In 2007 rapper The Game was playing a pick up game of basketball with Shannon Rodrick when he allegedly pulled a gun on him and struck him. The Game pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 4 months in jail (of which he served 8 days due to overcrowding).
Rodrick has now filed a civil suit against the rapper perhaps to get some satisfaction in the case that he didn't get from the
week The Game spent in jail.
In a smart pre-trial move The Game's attorney's have filed a motion to remove all references to him being a gangster or a gangster rapper. They feel this will create a different picture in the minds of the jury and show that this was a one time incident instead of an on going problem.
They will also try and remove any reading of The game's lyrics during the trail for the same reason.
Attorney Robert Michael Helfend tries these types of cases frequently and is a lawyer who is able to argue and quote many legal precedences in favor of his defendant. He personally tries every case as he knows that when you hire him, you want the attorney himself to be as involved as possible instead of handing you over to a paralegal.
"I will work for you to try to eliminate any possible prison or jail time, a possible dismissal of your case or, if need be, a plea bargain. I will aggressively pursue the best possible outcome for your case." - Robert Helfend
