At a party on Saturday a man allegedly directed a racial slur and sexual at the wife of a man by the name of Steven Honma.
The story goes that a fight broke out between honma and a Pasedena art teacher, Norman Schureman. At some point Honma alledgedly went home and returned with a gun and shot Schureman dead.
Honma grew up in a Japanese- American family and was taunted for his race his entire life. his lawyer says that this is one reason why the man may have reacted so violently.
Honma has been officially charged with murder and was supposed to be arraned on Tuesday but was postponed for medical reasons. He is being held on a two million dollar bail.
