This morning 41 year old Jefferey Brooks entered a guilty plea for the murder and several other charges.
The case reads that Brooks befriended an 80 year old man by the name of Edward Clayton Andrews via a personal ad while he was incarserated on child pornography charges. When he was released from prison Brooks moved into Edward's home as a caretaker. Neighbor's report that Andrews became scared of Jefferey and started to hide his financial records from him apparently fearing he could be robbed.
When the men disappeared neighbor's called the police and said they suspected the worst. They later got a poorly written letter stating that the men were in love and not to worry. "Please do not worry, I am with Jeffrey. Everything he said is true," the letter read. "So we are off to Europe and then South Africa. Jeffrey is all my dreams come true ... I know this all so sudden ... I will call you from Europe ... please watch kitty for me."
Authorities later found out that Brooks killed Andrews and encased his body in a concrete garden ornament. Brooks then emptied Edward's bank account, as Edward had earlier feared.
