Cadaver dogs were able to help Los Angeles FBI agents to find the pieces of a dismembered body this past week. Costa Mesa Police had been searching a park in Long Beach for the details of a double homicide involving a community college student and a war veteran and his girlfriend.
Twenty six year old part time actor Daniel Wozniak has been arrested for the murders which he profited from.
After finding the severed head of Samuel Herr, authorities were able to put together the rest of the crime. Allegedly, Wozniak found out the Herr had come into a sum of money after serving in Afghanistan and hatched a plan to withdraw funds from Herr's bank account and then kill him. He then, allegedly, dismembered the body in an apparent effort to hinder identification.
Wozniak tied all loose ends in the murder by summoning Herr's girlfriend to the deceased man's apartment by sending her a text from his phone. Wozniak is also charged with her murder. The accused is currently in a coma from a suicide attempt after his arrest.
