After nearly three decades a man has been arrested at his home for a murder he committed over an exotic dancer. James Edward Sims shot and
killed a man in the parking lot of a bar in Fort Myers Florida back in 1981. He said that he believed the man was stalking his then girlfriend Lafonda Dalton.
After the killing Sims assumed the identity of a dead man and moved to California where he has been living a quiet and peaceful life for years. However, this week authorities found him and took him to prison in handcuffs.
Sims left a wife and 8 year old daughter in FL and he also abandoned his underwater salvage business. He had been running a similar business in California since then.
In cases like these, if tried in the Los Angeles area, Ventura County Defense Attorney Robert Michael Helfend can help. He knows that with evidence that is 30 years old and eye witness statements from people who are now older or even dead, it is difficult for the prosecution to put together an airtight case.

He will never promise complete freedom but he will also fight hard for it.
