Los Angeles Man Shot In South Africa

A Los Angeles man, 35 year old David James Bueche, was shot during the time when the World Cup was in South Africa. He was listed in stable condition and is expected to recover.
Many people were worried that this type of activity would mar the games being held in South Africa and thought it risky to allow so many to travel to the notoious country.
Bueche was actually not in the area for the world cup games but rather just on vacation. He had just arrived in the country when he noticed that he was being followed by a strange car. Before he could figure out what they wanted or what course of action to take, four men jumped from the vehicle and stole his backpack containing everything including his money and passport. They then shot him just under his arm.
Good Samaritan bystanders were able to drag him out of harm's way and call the authorities.
