Ricardo Hernandez, 24 year old suspect in a 4 month old baby's death, is in custody and facing murder charges in Los Angeles County Jail. 10 months ago a warrant was issued for Hernandez's arrest, he was found and booked for suspicion of killing baby Andrew Garcia right after he'd been baptized.
Alledgedly Hernandez an 18 year old guy by the name of Alfonzo Landa were walking by the car where Garcia was being fed a bottle by a family friend in a parking lot after he had been baptized. They began arguing with some other people over the top of the car when Hernandez started shooting.
Both the baby and the adult in the car were hit. The adult was released with only small wounds while the baby was pronounced dead from a bullet to the head.
Landa was also wounded, however he was arrested about two weeks later and a week after that the warrant was issued for Hernandez.
"He was linked to the crime by both physical evidence and a variety of tips and leads," the Sunday police statement said.
Both of the suspects are supposedly known gang members, however, Ventura County Defense Attorney Robert Michael Helfend understands that opinions and prejudice has no place in a court of law. He will argue in your favor and attempt to get your charges reduced or dropped altogether.
