Gun Safety Is So Important

In a tragic accident this week a 2 year old boy died at the hand of his 9 year old brother. A community of close knit families was torn apart when two little boys playing inside the home were victims of a terrible accident.
The 9 year old apparently crawled inside of a closet, it is unclear whether or not the gun was in a locked case, and got a loaded gun. He and his bother were playing with it when he shot the younger boy in the upper torso.
Police arrived to find the young boy dead. They said that the complex was eerily silent. No children playing outside and no one in the community pool.
When neighbors were asked to comment they were reluctant.
"Not now," neighbor Kenny Carillo said. "Not after what happened....I just hope all this dies out and things go back to normal. This has been hard on everyone here."
"I couldn't sleep last night," said one neighbor who declined to give her name. "I have a granddaughter around that age. I pray for the parents, and for the child's soul."
Although no charges are being filed against the older boy or his parents at this time, there are simular cases where the family is targeted and charged with a crime.
