Robert Helfend understands that every person deserves a great defense attorney and he will, without judgement, put forth great effort to see that any charges filed are lessoned down to their least possible degree.
This week Los Angels lost a wonderful man and helper of the community. Forty year old Ronald 'Looney Barron was gunned down Sunday night after urging a teenage boy to stop illegally tagging. Barron considered this type of work his mission as he himself had once lived on the wrong side of the law as a member of the notorious Crips gang. His younger brother Anthoney Blank stated "He was out there helping children from making the same mistakes he made."
Police Cmdr. Andrew Smith and the officers of the Los Angeles police department worked quickly to find a suspect and were succesful with the help of a videotape from outside an area business that showed a boy tagging. They were able to arrest a 16 year old boy and will charge him with the murder of Mr. Barron. The boy gave himself and the murder weapon up easily.
Rodney's work with at risk teens through the organization, started by former NFL player Jim Brown, will be greatly missed. "The kids loved him. He made a difference in saving young people's lives." Brown was quoted as saying.
A vigil for Rodney was held on Monday night outside the bar where he had been watching the superbowl with friends.
Defense attorney Robert Helfend mourns the loss of such great men and women who help the community where he lives while fully understanding the need for those accused to get a fair trial with excellent representation. Contact him today to start taking the steps toward freedom and a brighter future.
