Everyone knows it can be dangerous to meet people online. Weather you are looking for someone to date, talk to, or a long term relationship of any kind, you have to be careful.
As in the case of Achilles Corelleone, a 47 year old Salton Sea man who was sentenced to five years in prison by a Los Angeles County court on Wednesday for molesting a 14 year old boy he met on the internet. Corelleone plead no contest to four counts of child molestation. Spokeswoman for the LA County District Attorney's Office stated that Achilles, also known as Arlan Gene Reynoldson, will also have to register as a sex offender and remain on the registry for the rest of his life.
Corelleone found the Coniva boy on Myspace and started meeting with him nearly right away. They continued to meet from July through October when the boys father caught on to the inappropriate relationship.
The police are pleased with the way Myspace cooperated with the investigation and the fact that justice was quick for the boy and his family.
Everyone should feel free to make great connections online but equally important is being prepared in case the worse happens and you are accused of an internet sex crime. If you or someone you know is facing this type of situation in the Los Angeles area contact Robert Helfend Attorney at Law.
