Rodney Alcala of Santa Ana California, who has been accused of killing a total of five women in the Los Angeles area back in the 70's, is being tried for the third time in the 1979 murder of then 12 year old Robin Samsoe. Both of his previous convictions in this case have been overturned, however, her mother is now stating that the gold ball earrings found in Alcala's posession belonged to her daughter.
Rodney's defense? To show a tape of the long ago popular television show 'The Dating Game' that he filmed a year before the crime to show that he was wearing the same earrings. The sixty six year old defendant will show the tape, in which he was the winning bachelor, to an Orange County courtroom on Monday.
