In a previous blog we talked about an accused serial murderer who was acting as his own attorney. We told you that he ws going to use a tape of a game shoe from the 70's to prove he was innocent on one of the four counts of muder which he was accused of.
The tape did little to help his case however, as even Alcala had to admit that due to low resolution it was difficult to see his earlobes.
Alcala was said to have been speaking in a "..soft-spoken tone that was at times inaudible." He asked himself many questions attempting to prove that he was not Robin Samsoe's kidnapper and murderer.
While acting as your own defense attorney is certainly your right, it is not advisable. Criminal defense Attorney Robert Michael Helfend can help in the Los Angeles area. With over 20 years of crimminal trial experience Mr. Helfend will do everything in his power to get your charges dropped and sentance revoked. A good defense attorney understands the law and how to use it in your favor in a way that someone not familiar with the legal system won't be able to do on their own.
With the trial of Alcala coming to a close soon, it is clear that his defense is thin at best. He hasn't properly addressed the charges in three of his casses, focusing instead on the kidnapping of Samsoe.
"I think the evidence speaks for itself," said Bruce Barcomb, brother to another victim in the case, said concerning the fact Alcala has all but ignored the other charges. "He's had four years to plan and it's just too irrefutable."
Don't let this happen to you. Call Robert Helfend today.
