Accidental Shooting Ruled Murder

On New Years day 2009, 27 year old Officer Johannes Mehserle shot and killed unarmed 22 year old Oscar Grant. The incident occurred on the platform of a subway station.
Videos of the incident appeared online almost immediately showing Grants final moments. Prosecutors believe these videos will aid their case immeasurably as the three different angles show exactly what happened.
At the time, authorities were unable to rule as to weather or not it was an accident or intentional. However, Mehserle is scheduled to appear in court this Friday to face murder charges. His lawyer will ask the judge to reduce his 3 million dollar bail and take the prosecutors from Alameda County off the case as he feels like the intense media coverage in that area has biased everyone involved. He has hope this will happen because of the ruling by an Alameda judge back in October which removed the case from the courts of Alameda County because of the tainted juror pool.
Johannes says that he accidentally pulled his gun instead of his taser. He is pleading not guilty to all charges.
