Rapist May Be Responsible For Other Los Angeles Sexual Assaults

Nineteen year old Louis Robert Mercado has been charged with rape and other charges associated with rape this week.
Mercado is said to have follwed a woman and then getting her into a parking lot for the purpose of rape. He reportedly made her remove her clothing and then sexually assaulted her. One of his charges involves kiddnapping for the purpose of rape.
Authorities believe he may be responsible for other rapes in the area. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Gretchen Zavala or Detective Scott Murachver at 818-623-4090 so that he may be brought to justice if indeed he is guilty.
"We don't very much anticipate that there are other people out there, but if there is, we would like for them to come forward," Zavala said.
