Yesterday's blog outlined a shooting case where names had not been released. More details were available today.
Gwen Taylor and her family had just finished an annual holiday dinner with other military families when she was shot in the chest by what police say was a stray bullet. She died nearly immediately.
Walking along with her five year old grandson, Gwen was taking trips back and forth to the car with the remains of a park picnic when she seemingly tripped and fell. Her husband, thinking she had only fallen, rushed to help her up. However when he rolled her over and noticed the blood, she said that she would be ok but then never said another word.
"And then her eyes rolled back. And that's the last we heard from her. I'm still slapping myself. It's like a dream. Forty years together," Taylor said Monday.
Police are still looking for the man who was walking through the parking lot and started firing at a 16 year old boy, who ducked behind a car.
