In a blog earlier this week the bodies of two babies who died over eighty years ago and the mounting case was highlighted. Updates show that the babies apparently died quietly.
Although a full autopsy will be needed to show cause of death, the preliminary autopsy shows that thier was no trauma involved in the deaths of the two babies found in a trunk in the basement of a Los Angels home.
The next step will be to gather DNA and seek to uncover who the children belonged to and weather or not the babies are related to each other. Investigators say they may use the new 'Familial DNA testing' to figure out if anyone in the system could be related.
Police have been greatly assisted by people in the area who have called with information.
"We could have been chasing a lot of red herrings," Hector Madrigal, a detective with the LAPD's Abused Child Section, said "But people have been instrumental in helping us come closer to the facts in this case."
