Back in 2007 a twenty three year old inmate inside the walls of the Twin Towers Prison in Los Angeles accused three deputies of sexual assault because of alleged pepper spraying his anus and genitals. He says he was only trying to get a clean shirt but after swearing at a deputy his ordeal began.
Franco has stated during his trial that the first officer was angry because the inmate stated that his clean pants were smelly, after getting another pair of pants he noticed that the shirt he was wearing also smelled fowl. He asked the same officer for a new shirt but the deputy accused the inmate of trying to be troublesome. Franco swore at the deputy and left.
Later that night Franco's cell was chosen for a random search but that is when things went south according to the inmate. He has said that three correctional officers took him to a private room and tried to get him to apologize, when he refused they beat and then pepper sprayed him.
All three officers pleaded the 5th on the stand much to the chagrin of Fronco's attorney who stated, "Cops tell the truth, Cops don't plead the 5th."
Los Angeles Defense Attorney Robert Michael takes cases like this extremely seriously. He will stand beside anyone who needs a defense attorney in the Ventura County area. In any case where a client's rights have been so violated, especially while in custody, he will fight hard to get the person's life back to as normal as possible and see them compensated for pain and suffering.
Franco is suing for three million dollars and if he wins it is still unclear weather the officers or the county will be forced to pay.
