Elizabeth Ann Jones pleaded guilty on Thursday, to grand theft, forgery, computer fraud, and false income tax returns in Ventura County Superior Court.
The story reads that Jones, 44, admits to allegations of stealing almost one million dollars in monies and properties from her employer, Conejo Valley Women's Group. Jones, a bookkeeper, was a trusted employee for eighteen years when suspect spending was finally discovered in 2008. After an audit of the books that she was in charge of, it was discovered that she had stolen $950,000, beginning back in 2002.
Not only was she paying herself, and her creditors with the company checkbook; but she was paying some of her family member's bills as well. Investigators have refered to her as a "Wolf", because of her abuse of her employer's trust. Jones faces sentencing on June 29th and is looking down the barrell of a nine year prison term. The crimes that Jones has admitted to here are considered, "Agrevated White Collar Crime" because of the amount of money that she stole was over $500,000.
