Serial Bank Robbery Suspect Sentenced To 16 Years
A man accused of robbing more than 30 banks in the Los Angeles area has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison. William Turner, 58, pleaded guilty to six counts of bank robbery but is likely responsible for as many as 33 bank robbery cases in the Los Angeles area.
Turner was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a series of similar bank robberies in 1992 in downtown Los Angeles. Turner established a notable MO by wearing outlandish hats while committing bank robbery.
