Illegal Alien Charged With Attempted Murder
A Thousand Oaks man whom police believe entered the country illegally from Mexico was charged with attempted murder, robbery and a string of other felony charges for crimes that he allegedly committed over a three week period in August. Police say that Genaro Hernandez, 22, is accused of stabbing a co-worker in Thousand Oaks, and committing a residential burglary on the same day. Neighbors discovered the burglary in progress and detained the suspect until police arrived. He is also accused of making criminal threats, dissuading a witness by force, and possessing stolen property. His arraignment is scheduled for September 17.
