Beverly Hills Ponzi Scheme Charges

Beverly Hills Ponzi Scheme Charges
A Beverly Hills investment fund manager has pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud, and two counts of investment advisor fraud. Bradley Ruderman, 46, was accused of defrauding investors of more than $44 million, more than half of which came from members of Ruderman's family. Ruderman told investors that noted businessmen Lowell Milken and Larry Ellison were investors in his fund.
Federal investigators claimed that Ruderman collected more than $44 million from 22 investors over a period of eight years. Ruderman is accused of spending nearly $9 million on personal purchases, including two Porsche automobiles. Ruderman also said that he lost more than $5 million of investors' money gambling in high stakes poker games. Ruderman will be sentenced on the charges in December and faces up to 51 years in prison.
