Ventura County Marijuana Arrests

Ventura County Marijuana Arrests
Ventura County Sheriff's Department officers discovered a marijuana farm that contained more than 11,000 plants in two locations in Matilija Canyon last week. Three people were arrested in connection with the marijuana growing operation. According to the Sheriff's Department, deputies destroyed 11,100 plants that were between 6 inches and 12 inches tall.
The site was spotted by detectives who were on a surveillance assignment. The detectives saw two men running from the brush to a vehicle operated by a third person. The trio was arrested and a search of the area turned up a makeshift campsite, trash, fertilizer and water diversion equipment. The estimated street value of the marijuana, had it been allowed to mature, was estimated at $16 million.
