San Bernardino Insurance Fraud

San Bernardino Insurance Fraud
An Asuza man was arrested and charged with insurance fraud after falsely reporting his vehicle stolen. Louis Martinez, 56, had claimed that his locked 2006 Chrysler 300 was parked at the Los Angeles County fairgrounds and was stolen while he and his girlfriend were inside the fairgrounds.
After taking his girlfriend to lunch, Martinez reported the theft to the Pomona Police Department. According to the police, the lot in which Martinez claimed to have parked his car didn't exist. Border records revealed that at the same time Martinez was claiming his vehicle was stolen, the same vehicle was recorded crossing the border into Mexico. After filing the false police report, Martinez filed a claim with State Farm insurance, but District Attorney investigators noted discrepancies in Martinez' story, which ultimately led to the fraud charges.
